About Me
I'm Danielle, an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist based in North Manchester, offering compassionate therapy for young people aged 16+ and adults. I provide both face-to-face sessions and online therapy across the UK.
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting. You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin. You don't need to have all the answers or the right words; therapy can be a space to gently explore what's happening for you, at your own pace.
I offer a warm, calm and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and supported. Clients often describe me as gentle, steady and easy to talk to, and my aim is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to explore what is really going on beneath the surface.
How I Can Help
Many of the people I work with feel stuck in cycles of worry, overthinking, self-doubt or emotional overwhelm. They may be struggling to switch off, feeling constantly on edge, experiencing low confidence, repeating patterns in relationships, or finding it difficult to understand why they feel the way they do.
I specialise in supporting people with:
Anxiety and overthinking
Low mood and emotional overwhelm
Trauma and difficult life experiences
Grief and bereavement
Self-esteem and confidence difficulties
Relationship patterns and challenges
Feeling stuck or unsure about what needs to change
Whether you are facing a specific challenge or simply feel that something in your life doesn't feel right, therapy can offer an opportunity to understand yourself more deeply and move towards meaningful change.
My Approach
My work is grounded in a person-centred approach. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and therapy is not about being "fixed" or judged. Instead, I offer a space where you can be yourself, explore your experiences and begin to reconnect with your own strengths.
Alongside this foundation, I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis and trauma-informed practice. This allows me to adapt our work to your individual needs, because every person's experiences, challenges and goals are unique.
When working with anxiety, we may explore the thoughts, feelings and patterns that contribute to worry and overwhelm, helping you develop greater understanding, calm and confidence.
When working with trauma, we focus on creating safety and understanding. We go at a pace that feels manageable for you, never moving faster than you are ready for.
When supporting grief and loss, I recognise that there is no right or wrong way to grieve. I offer a gentle space where you can process your experiences, whether your loss is recent or something you have been carrying for a long time.
Experience and Qualifications
I bring over 17 years of experience working in mental health settings across Greater Manchester, supporting both young people and adults.
My qualifications and training include:
Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Level 7)
BA (Hons) in Criminology
PGDip in Psychology
MBACP Registered Member
Trauma Informed Practitioner
Training in Bereavement Support
Training in Transactional Analysis
Working Together
I believe that with the right support, we all have the capacity for healing, growth and change. My role is to walk alongside you; to listen, help you make sense of your experiences and support you in reconnecting with your inner strength.
If you are looking for a therapist who offers a compassionate, steady and collaborative approach, I would be honoured to support you on your journey.
