Hi, my name is Noam and welcome to my profile.
I offer a flexible talking therapy online and in person.
Everyone is unique so I will meet you where you are and tailor our direction to your needs. I listen to understand your feelings and concerns with compassion and depth, creating a space that supports you with your situation.
My approach is integrative, applying different styles to create a tailored therapy experience for you. Please see below for further details of each approach.
I work with adults of all backgrounds coping with many aspects of life:
Family, Relationships, Financial challenges, Career, Anxiety, Depression, Loss, Health issues, Identity development, Social anxiety, Social exclusion, Religion and Spirituality, Creative careers.
I have a background as a musician and as part of a religious community. If you struggle with these aspects of life, I am able to bring my experience and understanding to these topics.
My Approach
My approach is warm and relational and informed by four main therapy modalities which I will summarise below.
Person-centred: Working within a warm, empathic relationship where you can discover and trust your own voice.
CBT: Understanding how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact — and developing practical tools for meaningful change.
Psychodynamic: Exploring relational patterns and how past experiences may shape your present.
Existential: Reflecting on how you interpret your life, freedom, responsibility, and meaning.
You may relate to any or all of these approaches which can be integrated into your therapy at any point.
The number of sessions can be arranged from the outset or open ended, and I will support you to achieve your goals within the structure you choose.
Qualification, Professional Membership and Experience
I did my integrative training at the University of East London where I completed the Counselling BSc with First class honours, and I am a registered member of the BACP.
Through training and post qualification, I worked in charities and with therapy providers supporting women running families, experiencing health issues and bereavement, as well as young adults and university students navigating identity, relationships and professional development. I have worked with people of a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.
Getting Started
I offer a 15 minute phone call where we can introduce ourselves and the main thing bringing you to therapy at this point. We will use this conversation to get an idea if we'd like proceed together and book a full session or consider other options.
Sessions are 50 mins on a weekly basis in a consistent time and location (in person or online). Flexible and hybrid options can be discussed in our meetings and reassessed as we proceed.
To arrange an introductory meeting, I can be contacted at Noambarkanytherapist@gmail.com or via phone on 07901813245.
