Bio:

I am a HCPC accredited and BPS chartered clinical psychologist. I have worked for many years in the NHS in specialist and complex mental health services with adolescents and adults. I currently manage the Adult Complex Trauma Psychotherapy Service at the Tavistock Clinic in London, as well as having a small caseload of private patients.

I have developed expertise in working with trauma, and with adolescents and adults who may struggle with their relationship with themselves and with others, with feelings of shame and anxiety, and with managing often intense emotions. I work with people who may use strategies including self-harm, eating (too much or too little) and/ or dissociation as ways to manage their feelings. I also have a special interest in offering therapy to therapists and other mental health clinicians.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and compassionate and focused on developing a trusting and authentic therapeutic relationship between us through which we can explore how you understand yourself and your relationships and explore where this may have originated from. I am accredited as a Systemic Practitioner with the Association of Family Therapy and as a Mentalization Based Therapist with the British Psychoanalytic Council. I have also trained in a range of different therapy approaches which I draw on in my work including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Therapy (EMDR) and Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP).

In addition to my clinical work, I offer supervision, training and consultation for individuals and organisations. I teach on the MBT-A (mentalization based treatment for adolescents) training courses at the Anna Freud Centre and also offer supervision in this model.
