Bio:

I am an integrative relational counsellor and psychotherapist with many years’ experience of working with adults, teenagers and children from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds in the NHS, youth counselling organisations, schools, both in the UK and internationally, as well as in private practice.

I take an integrative approach, with a strong basis in person-centred therapy, informed by psychodynamic and attachment theory and using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) or solution-focused techniques, depending on what feels appropriate and helpful to you as an individual and your particular needs and wishes. This means that I work collaboratively with you to explore your thoughts and feelings about anything that is troubling you or that you would like to change in your life, while being aware of any impact that past events and relationships may have in the present.

When working with children I use a play therapy and creative approach. I also work with parents to help them support their children. I passionately believe that supporting children and teenagers' emotional wellbeing helps them achieve their potential, and learn to cope with life’s challenges, that stands them in good stead later in life.

For work with children and teenagers, I will have an initial phone or video call with parents/carers to discuss their concerns, observations and relevant information before a first meeting with the young person.
